Agreus and Nomios are two brothers in Greek mythology, sons of Hermes, and follows of the God Pan. In the course of their adventures, they seduce nymphs, hunt game, and act as shepherds of the woods. This piece evokes the call of their shepherd’s pipes in a pastoral, shifting scene, one that begins slowly and calmly and escalates to the hunt of the day before dying out as night falls again.
